Day 12

Laughlin spring river run week rally - or whatever it's called.

Loads of harleys (or 'bikes' as they call them here).

The only other V-Rods I saw were in the Harley display / museum thing.
Maybe this new fangled 'water cooled' thing isn't to the taste of the locals.
Most of them are big, heavy and loud. The bikes that is.

We raked round some of the t-shirt stalls and I managed to find a couple that weren't size 'tent'.
The majority of the displays didn't open till noon but from what we could see, the wait wasn't worth it.
If you are into wierd and wild chopped hog's then go to Laughlin - you'll love it.
We left.

North through Nevada on yet another road that goes straight as far as the eye can see - and on the occasions when my eyes aren't streaming - that's a long way. I didn't clock this one but I remember an 'overtaking lane in 5 miles' sign and another 'in 6 miles'. If each of those lanes was a mile, then that's a minimum of 13 miles straight - and it was longer than that.

You've seen people absailing down the Hoover dam in films. We went down in the lift. It's a far more civilised way to travel, and certainly less strenious and with the temperature in the 80s my Scottish skin appreciated being inside.

We hand the bikes back tomorrow so we chilled at a motel just up from the dam, about 30 miles out of Vegas.
Time to catch some rays and wash some clothes.

We wandered into Boulder City for some food and found a diner straight out of the 50s.

1945 miles total - 107 miles today.
