DAY 12
- Boulder City to Vegas
Bikes go back today. We're only 30 odd miles from Vegas so there's no real hurry. We hit Boulder City for breakfast before checking out of the hotel. A gentle run along the side of lake Mead, making use of our National
Park Eagle Passes again, towards northern Vegas. You come up a hill in the desert and Las Vegas is spread out below you. It seems incongruous stuck in the middle of the desert. That's because it is. We cruised down the strip before heading along sunset towards Pecos to find Street Eagle. Rick and the boys almost seemed relieved to see us. I didn't have the heart to tell them that this the first time I've been abroad on a bike with Paul that I haven't dropped the bike. They listened to our war stories with good grace and ordered a cab for us. If you're thinking of renting a bike to tour the South West of the US, give these guys a call. Walked the strip. 1997.9 miles total (Paul's bike said 1999.61) 53 miles today. |
