Day 12

Out of the mountains and into the Arizona 'valley'.

South from Sedona through some picturesque canyons and over some windy passes (up to 7000 ft) before heading down to Wickenburg.

The upside of being out of the mountains is the temperature.
The downside is the bugs! They really hurt at speed.
And make seeing difficult when they coat your glasses. A couple of today's stops were just to wipe bug guts off my lenses. Sometimes when something particularly solid hits you and you can feel liquid running down your face you have no idea if a) it was a stone and that's your blood, or b) it was a bug and it's bug guts.

We went looking for a ghost town and found an old mining community.
Some of the buildings had been renovated and filled with old junk.
After a late lunch there we headed for Parker for the night.

Another day and the sunburn gets worse.
I don't need a light at night, my nose gives off enough light.

My neck hurts from the constant wind pressure - and we're usually traveling at about 60mph.
A full face helmet would be great, and a windshield.
Having said that, the seat of my blade would have become uncomfortable on some of the stupidly long straights, one was about 20 miles today.

More bikes are gathering in this area ahead of the 'Laughlin River Run'. An annual gathering of Harleys.
Kinda like a BMF rally, but with less mud.

1621 miles total - 254 miles today.
